Trade
She accepts him and bargains life for love.
He is amazed that she will dicker thus.
Joy versus dreams? And so push comes to shove -
He buries goals and stifles wanderlust.
The contract's new, the goods seem sparkling
But soon the light they trade by's dim and darkling.
She got the man she wanted, and it seems
His tractability's worth more than dreams.
His wants, his needs, desires, and his purse
Are in her hand. His soul, his all, are hers.
